    Hi, Ingeborgdot
That's the power of WUnderground network. Of course, it's working without selecting a nearby station, but we recommend that you should.
The closest to your location, the accurate the weather data forecast should be.
Thank you for your question, Ingeborgdot

So I just go in and check the box.  Then I need to copy and paste the location down to the box below.  Do I copy the lat and long also?

    Hi, Ingeborgdot

Once you select the nearby station it will be automatically added to the WUnderground weather service. All you have to do is to save this weather service with the newly changed preferences and force a weather data refresh from it. This should take few minutes. Assuming you are doing this from the RainMachine Android mobile app, you didn't mention it.

Let us know the outcome, Ingeborgdot

    Thank you.

Okay.  Do I check the circle that says useCustomStation?

    Yes, Ingeborgdot
That's how the WUnderground weather service will know from where to fetch the weather forecast data.

    Thank you.

I just want to make sure I am doing it right.  I'm new to this and am reading the stuff but I am a little confused right now.  Okay, so I check the useCustomStation.  When you say save this weather service how do I do that?  Is that where I put it in the box customStationName?  Do I just copy and paste it?  If so, Do I copy the lat and long with it?  Thanks. We'll get through this and I am not as stupid as I appear. :)

I think I found it.  I just copy the station and not the lat and long is what I see.

    Hi, Ingeborgdot
No problem, we are here to help and replying on the forums will help others with your issue, too.
From what you say it looks like you are using our RainMachine web application, right?
You just need to copy & paste only the station name, no other info needed.
After that, make sure that the WUnderground weather service is Enabled and then click on the blue Save button to save its new properties.

If you're using the RainMachine Android mobile app, the local station name is automatically selected and the weather service will be saved once you exit its screen.

    Thank you.

Ok, as we said that's how you save the weather service using RainMachine web application or RainMachine mobile application.
    Let us know the outcome.

    Thank you.

When I use the webUI, when trying to select a station and/or type in the API key, the box stays blank but there IS data there as the cursor is blinking at the end of the text, and it DOES show on my tablet app.

    I am using win7/64, RM firmware 4.0.900 and firefox 53.0.3 64 bit.

I have asked this question before and haven't gotten an answer yet.

The same thing happens when I try and setup a station for CIMIS... blank APIkey box and station ID.

I know the data is there and correct as it is showing in the app and webUI when I look at the weather station graphs (temp/temp hi/temp low humidity), so the data IS being retrieved, and it shows in the log file.

Also, what is the difference between TEMP HI, TEMP LO, AND TEMP in the graphs?

How often is the data polled from Weather Underground and CIMIS?  I have a station in my backyard and send data to WU every 3 seconds, but the graphs seem to only show updates every 24 hours.

Also, when is data retrieved from WU?

I was looking at my station's data on WU and trying to coordinate that to RM temperature graphs, and the closest I can determine is that RM takes data between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

What influences the time?  Program start? Program end? phase of the moon?

    Thank JJ...

I just installed Chrome and tried it and it does work for me too!  Thank You for the info!

Wonder why Firefox doesn't work???  I even tried Internet Explosion, and that doesn't work either, but I don't use IE anyway.
