Recording Actual Rainfall (realPercip) when it didn't rain??

This has happened 2 times now, where the system records actual rainfall (realPrecip) when it didn't rain, and the forecast correction has not fixed it.

I double checked with the station on wunderground and it says there was zero rain for that day and the days surrounding it.  Could someone explain to me why this could be giving wrong data?

  What I think it happens is that the Weather Station doesn't report Rain at all (rain=None) instead of rain=0. In this case the system will still use the forecast value (QPF) as it can't trust the PWS. The WUnderground page considers "no rain reported" as 0 we aren't doing that because we can run multiple weather services and will affect the averages too much.

  Is this your own PWS ? I would change it for an airport station temporarily and see how it works, then maybe change it to another closest PWS.

  Makes sense, good call.  Its in the neighborhood. 

  I checked the log and its working today so might have just been a glitch per wunderground that day.
