Touch HD-12 can't connect locally via webpage or iOS app!
FixedDue to the weather, I haven't had the need to check my RM past several months. Now that the weather is warming up, I wanted to turn on my programming but now I can't connect to my RM. I tried the webpage and the iOS app and neither will work.
On the webpage, I am able to log in and see my RM. But when I click it, I get a splash screen about starting the premium service. When I close that screen, I'm back to seeing my RM but it repeats the cycle and I can't see my programs.
I tried incognito mode and clearing the cache to no avail. And I am connected to the same 2.4 ghz channel. How do I fix this?
On the iOS app, when I launch it I see a message "Local Network Access disabled. Tap here to open iOS Settings". When I tap it and go to the settings, the Local Network is turned on for the RM app. Under the Network Settings in the app, Local Discovery is also turned on. My phone is connected to the same 2.4 ghz channel as well.
How can I connect to my RM locally? I am OK using the web or the app.
Please help!

Hello,
Without Premium you can only access your controller when you're on the same network.
Once you're on the same network as your RainMachine controller, please follow the instructions below.
On your RainMachine HD, tap on the screen and then go to:
Wrench > System > Wi-Fi
Right above the name of your Wi-Fi network you will see something similar to this
Wi-Fi Settings : 10.0.0.18
When you enter those numbers (IP address) on your browser's search bar it will take you to the WebUI locally.
If you have further questions about this issue or anything please let us know, we'll be happy to help.

Hello,
You should also be able to access your controller locally through the IOS app. You just need to be connected to the same network. Are you connected to the same Wi-Fi? If so, then we'll need to reset permission so the RainMachine app can look for RainMachine controllers connected to your network.
Please follow the instructions below.
-Open your iPhone/iPad iOS Settings
-On the top, tap on Search and type in RainMachine.
-Click on the first result, RainMachine.
-Look for the switch for Local Network. Switch it to the ON position.
Open the RainMachine iOS app again and see if your RainMachine is automatically discovered, or if you need to Allow Access to local network.
If you have further questions about this issue or anything please let us know, we'll be happy to help.

Thank you for the quick reply!
I was able to follow your instructions and connect to my RM locally using the webpage and IP address.
However, the iOS app still does not work even after following your instructions. It still says "No Rainmachine device detected. You are connected remotely".
My phone is connected to the same 2.4ghz wifi and I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the app.
What else can I try to make the app work? Thanks.

Hi,
If you know the RainMachine Local IP address and your iPhone connects to the same 2.4Ghz local Wi-Fi network (that's same IP class and Gateway) then you can add the RainMachine using the Direct Access feature.
- On Devices screen tap on the upper left menu icon and choose Network Settings
- Then tap on Direct Access - Add Device and give it a name and enter the local IP address into the Url or IP address input filed and save it.
- Go back to Devices screen and you should have the RainMachine name listed under the DIRECT ACCESS section.
- Tap on it and if you will be asked to enter its password, then the connection is successful.
If not, go back and edit the Url or IP address using the https:// protocol and the 8080 port, like https://192.168.0.100:8080 (where 192.168.0.100 is your RainMachine Local IP address). But as we said, if your iPhone/iPad connects to the same single 2.4Ghz local Wi-Fi network (not a dual-band local Wi-Fi network) as the RainMachine device, it should automatically list it on Devices screen. Also, try to disable the Mobile Data on your iPhone/iPad and check if the RainMachine is listed.
If your local Wi-Fi network setup is a mesh network like Google Mesh, Orbit and so on, there are issues about that, but it does not rely on the RainMachine network side, unfortunately.
Hope that helps
Thank youJulian
