Swiping up at Zone edit deletes the settings in App, needs a confirmation at the least!
I just lost my zone program I had set and been using for so long. I wasn't getting any forecast of rain and RM was not watering so I wanted to do a manual run. I clicked on the programmed settings for my usual run and the selection window popped up. I didn't want to edit or do anything but there was not a 'cancel' button that I could see to get out of this. I swiped up on my Samsung phone to hopefully get the home or left arrow button to get out of this window. For some reason I swiped up and the settings were deleted for that run.
There needs some improvement in this. At least a 'confirmation' window would have been nice. Please look into this and update soon. As to my Mini-8 not watering like I think it should, maybe it's stuck or something? That's another issue.

Ok, Paul
As you are using an Android phone that has a Back button (hardware or touch) the Android mobile apps do not have the "Back" button or the arrow. Also, the RainMachine Android mobile app do not have the "Swipe Up" functionality in any of its screens. Do you mean that you swipped up and sent the RainMachine Android app on the background? Either way, the program settings should not be removed because of that.
Please explain the steps you made so we can understand it better.
If you need your program settings back, you can try: Settings - System Settings - Restore from Backup option.
Hope it helps, Paul

I am using a Samsung Note 8. Swiping up to get the home and back button on the screen to show. In doing this it somehow deleted my program. I should have gotten a confirmation popup I would think.
Also, like I posted in another section, the backup is useless when you make a change and it overwrites what you had. I didn't think about trying a restore after losing the program. I just created a new one and then later thought to go look at what backup(s) were available. This after reading about backups in another post on this forum. Seeing the backup with a timestamp of about a minute or so after creating the new program let me know that I was out of luck in being able to restore the previous program. It was overwritten I believe.
Should there be an option to set how many backups you would like with any name for the file or a date stamp?

Hi, Paul
Swiping up is not a functionality embedded in our RainMachine mobile apps related to program edit/save feature.
We investigated this, and Yes, the Delete program menu option is the first one from the bottom of the screen.
We think that your swipe gesture was recorded as a tap gesture on the bottom of the Samsung Note 8 screen and that's why the program was deleted.
We will try to fix this.
As per Restore from Backup feature.
A backup is created every time a change has been made on Zones, Programs, or Restrictions. There are stored up to 10 versions back in time. The first one in the select box is the latest one. If you delete/uninstall the RainMachine mobile app, or it is a new mobile device you are using to control the RainMachine device, then, you will see few backups stored. Delete/Uninstall the app will remove any backups and using a new mobile device will store a backup the first time you change something on Zones, Programs, or Restrictions.Hope this helps, Paul

Okay. I get what you are saying that my swiping up was recorded as a tap gesture to delete. Hopefully you guys are going to work on adding some code to offer up a 'Are you sure?' confirmation box so this would not happen in the future.
I took another look at the backup section. I now am seeing several backups where I had only seen one before when I first began commenting on this. Why now this morning I am seeing several is a mystery to me. I also discovered by clicking on one of these backups there pops up a window where if I tap on the backup name there are the ten others now showing. I did not know this existed before. Thank you for giving me the instruction on that.
Thanks you for your all your help with this. I now have my previous program back. My goal before deleting the program by mistake was my ongoing quest to figure out the best settings to allow watering to happen on scheduled days. Down here in Tampa Florida we have not been getting a lot of rain. It's been sporadic at best. My backyard is awfully brown and I had to do a manual run to try and perk up the grass. My problem is trying to find the best settings to allow watering as there appears to be some issue with the weather forecasts or something else not allowing any watering. I had read in your blog about the problem with weather providers and the API situation so I'm not sure if that is causing the problem for me or not. I have NOAA selected and a local Underground Weather station hooked via a key. Both show an up to date success. Can you give me any idea of what may be the problem or how I might go about solving this? I have tried setting the rain and wind sensitivity as low as 25% and still do not see a forecasted watering schedule show up. Maybe I should try 0%? Also, is there a time delay from the time I make a change in either of these two settings before I will see a change in the bar graph?

Hi, Paul
Yes, we are looking at adding the "Are you sure" message on the RainMachine Android app. Thank you.
As per your watering issue:
- yes, there is a time delay related to the time when the weather data is fetched from NOAA and WU you have set.
Access - Settings - Weather and force a refresh for both of them.
If you need any more help, please do not hesitate to contact our support team and they will have a look at your issue.
They might need to access your device and that is only available directly through support.
Thank you, Paul
