local restrictions - more flexibility

    HI Michael,

Early next year we will release a firmware update that will allow you to do something similar and I will explain it below:

    1. You would have to set your program to 'even days' as your Municipality is requesting.
    2. There will be a feature called min. Watering threshold, so if weather is colder and if the rainmachine calculates evapotranspirtation below this set threshold that specific day will be skipped and the amount of watering will be carried to the next even day. So if that day you had 45seconds of watering, that 45 seconds will 'rollever' to next watering cycle.

I don't see how that helps.  Perhaps I don't understand.  But let's suppose my objective is to water for 30 minutes, every fourth day, and ensure that I only water on even days.  How could I achieve that result?  I don't see how your proposal works for that scenario, which is what many of us face.

Bumping this because I have similar municipal restrictions (can only water on odd or even days depending on house number).  I've currently got the programs setup to only water on 'even days', then use global restrictions to specify which days it can water on. For two days a week, global restrictions set it to allow only Monday,Tuesday,Friday, and Saturday.  This works to a degree, but lacks some customization and doesn't seem like to right way to handle it.

It seems a simple solution would be to add global restrictions for even days / odd days (and this is also a logical place because it is an imposed restriction).  Then the schedule could be set to every 4 days for one program, and every other day for another program, etc.

I have the same restrictions. I am required to water on even/odd days depending on address/house number. I would like to only water on odd days either 1 time per a week or every 4th or 5th day. Rainmachine does not seem to allow you to set up a program that accounts for restrictions and the water every x days, 1 time per week, or every 2 weeks.

Are there plans to add these features in? Or can I write custom code to accomplish this?

This is a problem for a lot of people in America where watering restrictions are controlled by the city and handled as odd/even days.

I don't agree with Rain Machine's (Andrei's) response, the update does not solve the issue since we never want to water more frequently than once per 4 days...

I just bought this unit, so it will be returned if this is not solvable.

    Andrei,

I tried using the "Minimum Watering Time" feature (under Settings, Restrictions) and set the "threshold duration in seconds" to 900, so that this would carry over the time from 1 cycle to the next as you suggested in your post from December 28, 2016. Instead of my system running on odd days and carry over anything less than 15 minutes, my system now does not run at all. Am I using the wrong setting? I do not see a "Minimum Watering Threshold" feature in the user interface

I have tested this out for just over 3 weeks. Most of the days have been hot days without rain, so I would think that my system would have ran at least 1 day during that time period.

Please advice me on how to get this work-around to the problem originally posted in this thread working properly. I would still like to see a proper solution to local watering restrictions in the future, not just a work-around.

I too have odd/even day watering rules based on my house number. The rules only apply when things get very hot and dry, but I'd rather just stick to those rules all the time.

Can we please get this addressed?

I have a similar even/odd watering restriction with my house being an odd number, but with the additional restriction that NO ONE is allowed to water on the 31st.  I can only restrict by day not by date.  The 31st obviously moves around, so I have no way to prevent thus unless I manually pause it every month with 31 days.
