What do to with master valve and zone 1 wire?

My rainbird has both a MV and zone 1 wire (7 total zones). Do I just put MV into zone 1 and then put my zonewire into zone 2-8? Thanks!

  Yes this is correct. 

  You also want to enable zone 1 to be the Master Valve in the software.

  Zones > Zone 1 > Enable Master Valve
