So this comment doesn't necessarily address what you said but I have my entire yard (err dirt) with seed right now and can relate. I needed to know if it wasn't going to be watered. As a work around, I use the notifications to let me know when the program has started and stopped. So one day, the algorithm started my morning program and ended it immediately. I was given the notification and manually turned my sprinklers on. Settings -> Notifications - > turn on program or zone start/stop.

Yeah, I thought about that, except we run ours late at night and my phone is off. So, I would not see any notifications till the morning. Right now I am watering by hand late morning. I thought about changing the time for earlier, but then I have to make sure the dog is not outside, because he thinks the sprinklers are playing with him. He is a funny water loving fool. It does not rain much here in SoCal, but I guess any day that is not blazing tells the machine to cut back.

    Thanks!! :)

    RainMachine Support (Edited )

    Hi, all
Daniel is right. Under RainMachine mobile app "Settings" - "Notification" you can turn on the notification for "Program Start/Stop" so every time a program starts you'll be notified on you phone, this, of course, has to be open, not in "Do not disturb" mode and allow push notifications. If for whatever reason you decide to not allow the push notifications during early morning hours, then, the push notifications will stay in a queue and they will show when you allow them to show on your phone.
Each mobile operating system has a limited number of push notifications in their queue, so you might not see all RainMachine notifications if you have other mobile apps that send notifications aswell they all count to that limited number.

To answer to Kat - currently, the mobile application watering history do not show the reasons that your zones did not water, because of the screen real estate, but we will address this in the future updates. Thou, you can see those reasons nicely listed under RainMachine web application - Settings - Watering History.
    They are:

    1. Stopped by user
The watering activity has been manually stopped by the user, or there was a power outage and the RainMachine device shut down during the watering activity.

    2. Minimum watering time
Scheduled duration is under duration set under Settings - Restrictions - Minimum Watering Time. This feature allows users to set a minimum time for their sprinklers to run. Any time below that threshold will rollover to the next watering cycle.

    3. Freeze protect
The threshold is set by the user under Settings - Restrictions - Freeze Protect. It will stop all scheduled watering activities when the minimum temperature has reached and it will automatically resume when the temperature will raise over.

    4. Day restriction
Set by the user under Settings - Restrictions - Weekdays. It will stop all scheduled watering activities for the selected days.

    5. Month Restricted
Set by the user under Settings - Restrictions - Months. It will stop all scheduled watering activities for the selected months.

    6. Watering time reaches next day
This reason is triggered when during the day a watering activity has been postponed (sent to be the last in the watering queue) until its start time has reached the next day (over 12:00 AM) and that watering activity will not start for the current day.

    7. Water surplus
This reason is triggered when the soil doesn't need more watering because of the past day rain events or evapotranspiration has been low and the water from previous irrigation is still in the soil, so there is no need for watering again. When this reason is triggered it will stop all scheduled watering activities.

    8. Rain detected
This reason is triggered when the attached hardware Rain Sensor detects rain. To change the behavior of the Rain Sensor go to Settings - Restrictions - Rain Sensor and choose how long the RainMachine will stop all watering activities after the Rain Sensor detected rain last time (available in our latest beta firmware update).

    9. Snooze set by user
Set by the user under Settings - Snooze. This can be either set to snooze all scheduled watering activities by days, or by hours, or by minutes (available in our latest beta firmware update).

    10. Program Rain Restriction
Set by the user under Programs - Edit Program - Rain Restriction. This is a sensitive option required by some municipalities authorities. If you live in an area that does not have this rule, then it should be left as Not set. If you must apply it, then keep in mind that this option will override RainMachine watering algorithm at the program start time.

You can access it by typing the RainMachine local IP into the desktop browser address bar when you're on the same Wi-Fi networks as RainMachine devices, or if you set a remote access account for your RainMachine, go to https://my.rainmachine.com and connect remotely (you may need the device admin password to log in).

    Thank you all.
    RainMachine Support.

Okay, I found the minimum watering time. However, I need that only on 2 zones, as they have new seed and ground coverage. If there was a cool overcast day and watering is not needed for the 3 other zones, I would love to save water and not water. Is there a work around that one? I am still getting used to this new house and yard, as well as my Rain Machine. We are not sure if this system has a rain sensor. I believe my husband said that there was a wire, but we honestly have no clue.

Another idea, might be to have the actual time ran per zone station. I see my times, but when I get to the last zone, it only has a start time.

Example to have it listed as below:

Zone 1 Front and Side grass
    Started at 09:00:01 pm
    Water saved: 33.8 gal
Time ran: 0:0:30  <----- new idea???

I did just make it over to the website version, and that helps me out a lot. I have bookmarked it as a tab, so I can check it during the day and run what may be needed. I goal is to save water, but also not kill the new ground coverage and seeds planted. Haha! I do not always have the time to go outside and hand water, so this is very helpful for now. Thanks!

    @RainMachineSupport...

In the web app, I don't see the "reason" listed in Settings/watering history.  Should it be in the "special conditions" column?  That column is also blank.

    I am running an HD-12 ver. 4.0.900

UPDATE:  I created a rain event (simulated a rain detector on the two pins on the connector), and my program stopped and made an entry in the "special conditions" column with "rain detected" as the reason, so it does display... sorry it is working.
