    Hi, Richard
    Thank you for your question.
    When the Rain Sensor attached to RainMachine "detects" rain while a program is running the watering is Stopped immediately.
    Under Rain Sensor options you can set what do you want to happen "After rain has stopped":
    - Resume normal operation;
    - Snooze device until midnight;
    - Snooze device for 6 hours;
    - Snooze device for 12 hours;
    - Snooze device for 24 hours;
    - Snooze device for 48 hours.

    Hope this will answer your question, Richard
    Thank you

    Thanks for the information. My application is a bit unusual, I have a solenoid on my swimming pool refill line and a float switch set to the max water level. I wanted to schedule the "zone" to run once daily for some arbitrarily long period (say an hour). Then, if the pool reached max level, it would cut out automatically. However, I don't believe this would work anyway because it appears the Rain Sensor input is global, and not selectable by zone/program. So, reaching max pool level would stop all programs.

    I can also run the solenoid in series with the (NC when below maxlevel) switch, as also suggested for Rain Sensors and then the zone would cut out when max level was reached. The only problem with this approach is the Rainmachine would think the zone was busy, when in actuality no water was flowing.  I can also read the water level sensor in an external program and operate the pool refill zone via the API. So, l I have lots of options.

    And then... This discussion raises a question about allowing a local Rain Sensor to be applied on a zone-by-zone basis. This would be a valuable feature for indoor or sheltered zones that should be watered in spite of local rain.

    Thanks for the help and a great product.

    Hi, Richard
    Every thing you said is true, yes.
    You can run the valve and solenoid in series and indeed the water will stop in that zone, but RainMachine will not sense that and will say that is still running.
    The discussion remains and we will forward it to our developers.

    Thank you for letting us know about your setup and scenario.
