Electricity saved in addition to water saved
Hi there,
for those out there who feed their irrigation system from a well like I do, the amount of electric power consumed/saved is more important than the amount water, being free of charge in this case. However, potent deep-well pumps easily have significant power ratings of 1200W and above, thus well worth operating behind a smart irrigation controller like RainMachine.
It would be nice if RainMachine was not only capable of calculating and displaying the amount water saved, but also the amount of electricity saved (kWh would be the unit here in Europe). This feature should be an addition to the amount of water saved, e.g. when the irrigation system is fed from the public potable water supply. (E.g. toggle display when both indicators are relevant.)
Furthermore, with the price per unit of water (€/m³) or electricity (€/kWh) known to RainMachine, the controller could even report absolute amounts of money saved!
