Resrictions and daily schedule.
I set up new units a few weeks ago. Trying to do this quickly I just set-up a daily schedule with recommended times since I had nothing to reference. These are about 13 minutes. Additionally I set up all the restrictions we have. This leaves 3 days we can water and 4 days we can't. Plus peak times etc.
I assumed that the program would understand that although it is a "daily" schedule it still needs to work around those restrictions.
Now with some time passed it appears that if I actually watered everyday, the 13 minutes would be adequate, but with over half my days restricted, it appears to be under-watering pretty much all around.
I understand that I need to spend more time with each zone. But I have nearly 20, and that doesn't even begin to cover the damage some of them have.
Do I need to start with a new schedule first?

Hi Jerry
So, to understand it better did you set your program to the "Daily" frequency and set the zone timing to "Suggested", right?
Then you went and set your "Weekdays" watering restrictions and you choose 4 days when not to water and left other 3 unchecked when to water because when you go to restrictions and you choose a day, that day is the restricted day. Also what "Additionally I set up all the restrictions we have." mean? Do you set other restrictions than "Weekdays"?
But when you say it was watering every day - that's not good. The restriction didn't kick in?
@RainMachine - this is not good! What type of RainMachine device do you have?
I have a RainMachine Touch HD-12 and if something is wrong with my scheduling I check on the device itself to have the settings saved from the mobile apps shown there also, just to be sure that nothing was wrong when I saved them on my phone.
Thanks

Josh,
I gave to much information. The question is simple: Does a daily schedule calculate watering time based on restrictions?
After playing around for a while last night, the answer appears to be no. I created a new schedule, watering only 3 days a week and used the suggested times. and they about doubled.
I assumed that the program would take the restrictions into account. This way when my restrictions change I only need to adjust the restrictions and not the program. But this does not appear to be how the program works. If nothing else I feel there should be a warning message.
We have daily restrictions (Mon/Wed/Sat only) and hourly restrictions (No 10am to 6pm watering) . As well as other monthly restrictions.
I have 2 of the Touch HD-16s. which means double duty for every change.

I would set the program to use 'Specific Days' - those being the Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The program should adjust for the difference in the day schedule as for two waterings it would be for two days each and the Wednesday watering would be for three days, it should water more on Wednesday, by calculations it should do.
Best that could be done for the time restriction would be to start the watering so as your maximum amount of time for the program does not go past 10:00am.
With both of those in place and no hard settings for 'Restrictions' the system should calculate properly.
