It's interesting, where you see the water needed ?

Water needed everywhere in this Alabama summer. Looking back the water needed for that day changed to about 50%. Still, it's mid 90’s,humid, no rain and needs water. I often have to,water manually to be sure there is enough water to keep things from drying out too fast. I have had days where a zone runs for 3 or so minutes.....that seems useless and more of a waste than saving water.

i like this system but sometimes I don't understand how it is supposed to work.

Yep, but zones predicted times are shown in the same place where % of water used by program is visible, means ie on device main web page.
You can turn off weather corrections at all in program/zones settings, or use average ET corrections only, or use current weather data, even with station measured rain corrections. It depends on device settings and isn't hard to do, weather adaptive watering can be turned on/off for programs or zones.
So fixed set times can be used exactly for them, although default device setting is to use weather corrections. Hope it helps a bit :-)

Thanks, I think you are talking to me like I have a generation 2 when I actually have a generation one. My biggest question pertains to what is called rain sensitivity and how it should be set for my climate and an area with lots of trees and tree roots. Everything else seems to be set correctly.

as I said, I like this machine but it does act strangely at times and I have to watch it carefully to be sure it is watering enough in this hot weather climate.

Exactly, info was about 2 gen. devices :-) Sorry, I couldn't help for previous ones, just no experience.
