Rain sensor and HD-12

    Hi Dubi,

     

    1. You have two options you can choose from:

    A. Connect your click sensor in series with the common wire like shown in image "A". This means that you will have no software control over this switch.

    B. Connect your click sensor to the 6-pin header with the cable adapter like shown in image "B". If you choose this, you will be able to enable/disable this later from software.

    If you choose B., you'll need the cable connector for a reliable connection. If you're OK with option A., you can use standard cable nuts to make the connections between your HD-12 and your sensor.

    2. The part number of the connector in question is JST_S6B-EH, any cable that has its counterpart will fit.

    I have hooked up my rain sensor (Irritrol) to those pins using two pin connection wires, each about 3 inches long with female pin fittings on each end, of the type that are commonly used to make connections to motherboards in desktop computers.   One end fits the pin in the RM.  The other end is pushed onto the wire from the rain sensor.

    My rain sensor is working well with the RM.
