1st gen total garbage
I was stupid enough to buy 3 different versions of these controllers. the 1st gen is nothing but problems. So I expect the other 2 to quit working soon.
The current problem, is that the controller randomly does not water. and then magically it waters on schedule until it doesn't. I tried to reset it and it hung up on my address a couple of times but I finally got past that. then it got hung up and gave me an error on my email address registration, which worked but gave me an error.
These things are buggy as hell. I've already checked the wiring, checking continuity as well as open or closed shorts. When I wire up a 35 year old rain bird, it works. which is more than I can say for rainmachine. (synonymous with aniti sprinkler)

and before you tell me to just buy another controller, why should I buy another one of yours when the support is horrible. Someone made a decision to not support the 1st gen at some point and that person should be fired. Even more so if the owner made that decision. What this means is when you (rainmachine) decide to make a new version you will stop supporting the current models. This is a deceitful business model. let's screw over the customers that were dumb enough to buy our product in the 1st place, and sucker them into buying another and another.
Every time I have to touch this thing it cost me money (time)

Sorry to hear that, I see that you have a ticket open with support team. If you can't solve with them we can continue discussion here. We still have tens of thousand 1st gen devices in the field and although we no longer provide public updates they are still running. Maybe your issues are related to weather not hardware wiring/valves ? You can set it up with Fixed Program without weather to check that it does water on your schedule then we can debug what's going on when weather is enabled.

this is an annual thing As I stated in the ticket. this is not a wiring, valve or weather problem. I plug in a 35 year old rainbird controller and it works. Last year I was sent a card and I had to disassemble the controller to install the card. that fixed the problem. Why am I forced to play this game every year? I have a brand new model I just purchased directly from rain machine that I would like to return. unopened un used. It's not even worth installing.

still buggy. hung up and I had to go onsite and actually unplug and manually reset power. I can't strongly enough recommend that people not buy these. oh, and not being able to join a previously joined hidden network is something that should have been solved in 2015. This one controller must be the only 1st gen lemon because I have to continually mess with it to keep it running. pure garbage.
