Master Valve Always On
I purchased a Pro 16 in July of last year to add more zones to my existing setup (HD 16). Currently, the HD 16 runs the front yard, and the Pro 16 ran the backyard. Each RM had it's own Master valve and both systems were wire-separate (meaning they did not cross paths). Both worked flawlessly the entire summer.
All was fine until I went to revive the system for this year.
Now, the Master Valve terminal on my Pro 16 is constantly hot (24VAC), regardless of whether a zone is on or not, delayed or not, and even with the Master Valve option disabled. Still hot.
I have performed the following to troubleshoot this problem:
- Manually cycled a zone valve via software to see if I could reset the Master Valve. Constantly Hot.
- I disconnected all the zone wires from the Pro 16, leaving only the Master Valve and the common wire. Constantly Hot. (If I leave the Master Valve connected and disconnect the Common wire, the Master Valve is finally de-energized.)
- Removed all wires from Pro 16, and brought out a known good zone valve. Direct wired the Pro 16 to the zone valve (2 feet of new wire). Constantly Hot.
- Factory reset the above test setup. Constantly Hot.
- Changed delays before and after Zone turns on and off. Constantly Hot.
- Added wires for a few zones. Constantly Hot.
- Moved the Common wire to a different common terminal. Constantly Hot.
At this point I am not sure what else to test since it appears to be a hardware issue. As soon as the Pro 16 is powered on and the Master Valve and Common wires are connected, the Master Valve goes Hot. Even with the Master Valve software option disabled (remains hot).
I need assistance with next steps because I can't use the backyard section of my system and we're about to shoot up in temperatures for the remainder of the week.

James,
It sounds like the terminal for the master is locked in the on position. I want to congratulate you on divining all the steps on your own. You must be a technically minded individual. It also sounds like you are still in warranty. I am opening a ticket for you and you should have an email shortly over this issue. With the temps going up if you can respond as soon as you see this I will make sure to get the ball rolling for you so you don't have to do any hand watering when the temps go up.

James,
It was sent on the 18th of may. We basically asked you to reply to the email with a copy of your electronic receipt so we could verify your purchase date and send out a replacement unit. I will resend the email to you. It was at the same email you used to contact us on Wednesday so you might check your spam filter and I will send it out to you a second time. If for some reason you still dont get it I would suggest you call in to us at 844-497-8707.
