    Now that Apple is allowing software authentication in ios 11 without the need for additional hardware from RainMachine to authenticate how soon will RainMachine apply for HomeKit integration and provide a software update for us? Rachio has unofficially confirmed they are going to do so for their second gen hardware.

    Hi, all
    Sorry for this late reply.
    We are working directly with Apple to be able to provide HomeKit software implementation that will not require the hardware chip to be installed on the RainMachine product motherboard.

    Apple removed the hardware requirement back in June of this year.  HomeKit authentication can be done with software authentication with no hardware requirement at all.  It's just a matter of you all adding HomeKit through your software and doesn't require you to work with Apple at all.  Hopefully because of this, this feature will be added sooner rather than later.

    One more user AGREE totally about Apple Homekit

    i understand that it does not sound easy to just make a software upgrade to add homekit but am sure you guys are professionals
