Water meter is no longer detected.

I have a 12 zone system and my water meter is no longer being detected by the controller when the reed switch closes. It worked fine in the past. I checked the total line resistance and is is about 4.5 ohms. When I run the system I can see the reed switch closures on my ohm meter so I know the water meter is operating correctly. I even replaced the reed switch just to be sure. Is the system sensitive to overall line resistance?? Was a software/firmware change made that could have caused this?? I cannot find the root cause.

  I think I am going to replace this POS with a Hunter PRO-HC PHC-1200.
