My first generous or second generation RainMachine having a very difficult hard time getting remote access verification activated with email.
I have a first or second generation RainMachine I’m not sure which. But I decided to try a year worth of the remote access for premium service.
One of the requirements is a email verification as the last step. Whenever I attempt to do the email verification it’s almost like it’s nonresponsive and if it did send me an email or it looks like it did I never received it. I checked spam. I checked junk mail. There was nothing.
That I’m missing a critical step during the mobile app installation after I did the QR code scan on the Rainmachine HD 12. I can give you the steps that I did.
1. Did a complete factory reset
2. Gave a friendly name to the RainMachine.
3. Gave a password for the RainMachine.
4. Entered in my Wi-Fi password.
6. Scanned for location.
7. They asked to scan his QR code that I did.
6. Then download and set up the app.
Then once I started following the app, which has no clear instructions or video which kind of leaves me guessing. Once I did figure out how to add a new RainMachine for remote access. The first thing asked for a name that I gave it and then it wanted a local IP address and report number 8080.
This is where I get lost along the route. Do I need to add the local IP address on my router in that port number 8080. When do I need to port forward this information for the RainMachine as well which it doesn’t describe.
Then it asked for new password, a verified new password, and the old words that doesn’t make sense. After I clear that, then it takes me to a screen, verify the location again through the app. Then after that it verifies me for the remote access. The first time I did it it was acting very slow and sluggish and then when I finally deleted it a few other additional accounts one of the accounts asked me for a verification that I was able to enter in. I entered in the email correctly and hit verify or they send. They told me that it would send it to my email.
I looked in my email under the new emails, spam emails, and junk email or nothing was there. So I’ve spent $30 and I can’t even use this thing because there’s no clarification on what needs to be done. Set it up for the remote process and the router.
Do you need the local IP address address and the port number of 8080? Do you need the port forward the RainMachine in your router? Do I need to make sure all my firewalls are turned off in the router which seems to default. But I don’t have a problem with other remote devices with the settings that work fine.
I happen to have a UMD-Pro router from ubiquitous. Still very frustrating that I have no way to verify this email so that I can link the premium remote access to the RainMachine.

Any help for any clue would be greatly appreciated or even a video of somebody actually setting this up or even photos with directional guys in settings because I’m getting really frustrated with this.
