Unclear what dots and dotted line in graphic display of active Program mean

On the Home tab, in the Programs section there is a bar graph showing each day's percentage of programmed watering time.  There is also a dotted line connecting black dots - one for each day.

What do these dots and the line represent?

  The dots represent a percentage of the evapotranspiration for the day from the summer day average evapotranspiration. It should follow the bars height for a daily program graph.
