External (hardware) switch to start specific program

i. Is it possible to attach an simple switch or button to one of the senor connectors to start a given program? Background: I use a pump to draw water from a well. In addition to the sprinklers I want to set up a zone that connects to the hose for manual watering. Having a simple switch next to the hose witch let's you turn on the pump and open the corresponding valve would be much more convenient than having to use your smartphone or fiddle with the buttons on the rainmachine. One could set up a program that runs for a given time, so you don't have to worry about turning the pump off again.
