This issue happens periodically (the rain machine goes offline) but is due to the Dlink router 2.4G channel stops broadcasting, the 5G is still active and working.  Mini8 is the only device on the 2.4G channel.

With the most recent firmware update this is now happening about every 3-4 days.  I need to reboot the router to restore operation.  In the past it would happen after weeks to months.
