Open source firmware?

This is probably a long shot, but is there any chance you guys would consider open sourcing the firmware itself? It's just that I see a lot of feature requests that I'm sure a few of us could help with.

  The mobile apps ( Android & Apple ) are open source already.
  There is a OpenWRT OS for RainMachine Mini-8 device also.

  But I agree, if they open source the firmware will be much better.
