WUnderground (IBM) weather service policy change - NOAA option?
Since WUnderground now only offers free access to their service for owners of weather stations that push data to their system, this would explain why my RainMachine is no longer getting observed rainfall from WUnderground. While I am considering getting a weather station so that I can feed this info to WUnderground and then have it available in my RainMachine, I am concerned that WUnderground may change their rule again making my Weather Station data not usable in my RainMachine.
NOAA has Observed Precip info, the url is "https://water.weather.gov/precip/". You are able to drill down to your location via Lat/Lon. This data is graphical and I am not sure is it can be obtained in a useful format to be used by RainMachine. If it could, this would be a very accurte way of getting observed rainfall into our RainMachines.

One of the reasons I made my Ambient Weather parser was the changing tides of WU under IBM. Others have had success with it, check out this thread:
