No SSID in access point mode

I've had a Rainmachine Mini-8 for about 3 years. Today, the wifi indicator was flashing. I reset my home router and restarted the rainmachine. Still not connecting. So, I held the reset button for 5 seconds and the Mini-8 rebooted in Access Point mode ("A" showing on the display). There is no SSID showing for the rainmachine. I tried two different cell phones and a tablet. Tried holding reset for 20 seconds. Again, the mini-8 came up fine in Access Point mode, but no SSID available. Any suggestions?

  There was a recent firmware update, if you have auto updates enabled, maybe it's a case of an update gone wrong. Otherwise it's possible the wifi chip has issues if you're saying it lost connection and AP mode is not working either. Best to call support.
