Auto reboot of RainMachine

Hi,

    I have a rainmachine operating in another country from where I am, I visit 3 times a year for a month at a time, but the unit can be unattended for up to 5 months. Is it possible to build in an auto reboot option that we could select to reboot for example every week at a specific time?

i find I lose contact sometimes and as soon as I get someone to visit the property and reboot the power which forces a rainmachine reboot it comes back on line.

  I fully agree! After some weeks of proper function, the Rainmachine does not water anymore, although it says it does. A reboot solves this issue too. Also I cannot enter the interface for a remote reboot at that time.

  I don't know which RainMachine you have, but have you looked to see of it has cron?  The Pro unit does and you can configure and enable cron for it to perform a reboot on the schedule you set.

   

  Alternatively you could also buy a timer and have it power cycle the unit as well.

  I have a HD12 touch, I did not find any reboot scheduler. But it would be great if there is such feature already implemented!

  Regular power cycling does not sound good for the microprocessor, so I skip that option.

  I believe the Touch uses Android.  Vanilla Android does have cron, have you used Google and searched for cron android and follow the directions to see if it works for you?
