SDI (subsurface drip irrigation) - Program/Schedule

Hi all,

I want to create a program for SDI (subsurface drip irrigation) for my lawn.

I have successfully configured my zones for SDI. I have set the Custom Sprinkle Head with a Precipitation Rate of 15mm/h, Application Efficiency of 0,9 and a Total Flow of 0,5m3/h. Some notes from what I learned so far:

1 With SDI there is no need for only watering during the day to avoid diseases (due high levels of humidity). SDI allows watering any time of the day.

2 The number of cycles should be between 7 to 10. Watering for continuous periods would result in water draining past the root zone.

3 SDI watering is best operated every other day or 3 days a week, depending on the climate. Sandy soils may need watering every day.

Anyone with a successful schedule can share experiences and the Schedule used for SDI?

  How did your schedule/settings work for the season?  I'm looking to do the same (netafim SDI) in approx 6 months.

  Hi Dennis,

  I do plan to install my SDI (Rainbird XFS) also in approx six months. The site is still under construction.

  Meanwhile, I was playing around with the Rainmanchine and defining an SDI program. 

  Let's share our finding later on this topic.
