RAIN MACHINE SHOULD NOTIFY USER OF MALFUNCTIONING ZONES
What's worse than a system that doesn't work? It's one that you can't trust!
Rain Machine works great but it has a major flaw. It won't tell you if one of your zones is not actually watering. Unless you are looking at the zone, you can't be sure if it is watering or not.
Lets say a landscaper cuts one of the wires going to a zone. It happens more often than you think!
Your Rain Machine will report that the zone got watered when it actually did not. It should be pretty straight-forward for the developer to issue an update to test each active zone for an OPEN circuit.
I'd like to see a warning from the Rain Machine app the a zone has an open condition and will not be watered. This condition should also be entered into a log to help the customer identify the time and date that the problem began. This will help you determine who the culprit was that cut the wire.
Think about it. If you leave town for a week and you look at your Run Machine App, you would never know that you could be coming home to a bed of dead flowers. It's happened to me!

It seems unlikely this is a unique problem to RainMachine. This would most likely require having either load sensing or a continuity/resistance circuit in hardware, not just a random software update.
However you can add a flow meter which would cover all cases of water flowing or not, not just the corner case of a cut wire.
