I give up - this thing never does what I expect it to do
I'm at the point of just turning this thing into a "dumb" controller. Just water when I tell you to, and for how long.
I have turned off adaptive frequency, I have dialed back reliance on outside forecasts to 20%, and I have turned off wind sensitivity. I've even tried to change my soil type and slope to trick the rainbird into thinking I have lower field capacity than I do. When I go to bed, my program tells me it's going to water at 4:30 am that night, but when I wake up, there's no water. Checking the program again reveals that it doesn't plan to water again for 7 more days (i'm on a once a week schedule). This has happened to me dozens of times.
Further, I tried buying a rainbird sensor, but rainmachine's "open circuit" definition doesn't allow it to work.
I've had my Mini-8 since July of 2017 and haven't gotten one day of satisfaction out of it. I feel like I've tried everything. My next step is to just turn off every bit of intelligence this thing is supposed to have and just go to reliable old watering the grass on schedule (even when it's raining, since rainmachine isn't even compatible with basic rain sensors). Unfortunately, I have no confidence in my ability to even do that much.
Can someone just provide me with the settings to make the rainmachine water every seven days, period?

Are you using a "sunrise program start" in your configuration ? Might worth setting a fixed hour.
RainBird sensor should work ok, by default is "Normally Closed" which should work with RainBird.
I will send you a Support Request maybe I can help you by looking into your RainMachine settings.
