1st Gen Update/Weather not Connecting

Just in the last week my RainMachine has stopped downloading weather.  It's last download of weather was Jan 21 at 9am EST.  It also says it can't reach an update server when I try to manually check for updates so it's seemingly not getting out to the Internet.  I've had this installed since 2013 with never an issue.  I did recently install a new modem but the router is the same and settings weren't changed in the router.

I'm on v3.7.4.  I've had a static IP assigned to it and have tried switching to a DHCP IP address which didn't help.  I have rebooted the unit, removed and installed the wifi dongle, tried resetting the static IP, rebooted modem and router and am out of ideas. 

I have a download of the logs from the web UI but don't see a place to attach them here so I've put some of them that I think might be helpful below:

    I have exactly the same problem.

    Perhaps device SSL root certs are out of date, or SSL lib is dated?

    If so a new firmware release would be needed to fix this, or the server side would need to be changed to be backward compatible.

    The device won't connect to the update server either.

    Yes, same here. If update uses ssl then it would behave the same as weather update.

    I can't find any logs specific to the update server but found this in a log called "cloud-client."  The SSL cause sounds plausible to me.  I've run into this before when running older devices.  Did yours stop downloading about the same day?

    We will look into this right away and find a solution, it looks like multiple people have the same problem.

    Yes, thank you, Brandon! Mine is working again, as well.  That's some fantastic service. Really appreciate it.  I'm probably going to have to replace my unit anyway, as the display is full of vertical lines.  It still works fine but has this display issue.  When I do, it will definitely be another RainMachine!
