Schedule runs randomly

My rain machine which I purchased about 5-10 years ago, sometimes runs its schedule normally (every other day), but sometimes randomly it simply stops running the schedule. I’ll check the watering history about once a week, and some weeks it has ran normally (every other day), but sometimes randomly weeks it shows that it hasn’t run even once. And yet other weeks it’s been 3-4 days since it’s run. When the problem first started, a couple years ago, I was using adaptive watering and had a Wx subscription. Then the weather service link broke but the adaptive watering worked well. But 1-2 years ago this intermittent schedule-execution problem began, So I checked all the settings and removed all adaptive watering, thinking that may have been the issue. But it clearly was not. Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions to resolve?

  My RM is a 8 station model with 6 active zones. I have 2 scheduled watering programs per day at the usual times.

  Last night, (or early this morning) I noticed it was running at 1:am, not a scheduled time. It started on zone 3 on its own and the log says "stopped by user". Then it started again 4 mins later, and again later.. then a different unused zone was activated, ran 24 secs and stopped user.

  I disabled one schedule and it still started running zones on its own, until now I stopped both programs to find out what could be happening. I rebooted the device and the firmware is up to date. This unauthorized operation has been going on all morning from 1am until I stopped all the schedules at 8:30 am. What is happening? Thanks
