Help me decide between the HD and Pro!

I understand the main differences are the touch screen and the WiFi.

The HD has a larger touch screen. Is that actually useful for programming? Are all the same program settings available on the Pro?

The HD has 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wifi and I know the WiFi hardware is different. Does it really matter?

I don't care about the ethernet on the Pro, as long as the 2.4GHz works good. I don't care about the 5GHz WiFi on the HD, as 5GHz is shorter range anyway and the extra speed isn't needed.

  On the RainMachine Pro screen you have only the essential features like zone/program start/stop while on the HD unit, you can directly create programs, for example. With a mobile app, both units can be programmed in the same way.

  If you intend to use it mostly remotely, there is no difference between them. If you will use the touchscreen a lot, the RainMachine HD unit is a better choice.

  I just wanted to make sure you are aware that RainMachine is introducing a yearly $30 fee for certain features so you can factor it into your decision.

  You can head over to the “Issues Reporting” section of the forum. A lot of us are complaining about the “new” service tier since they will charge for features that were advertised as part of the device.
