How can we help?

MAC address in GUI doesn't match what my router sees

Both Ethernet and RainMachine access-point interfaces have our MAC class addresses. The interface that actually connects to WiFi gets MAC by deriving from the MAC address of the access-point. That's something hard-coded from the WiFi vendor and we weren't able to change it.

Thanks. I'm still a bit unclear as I'm seeing a *differnet* MAC address in the RainMachine UI as compared to the MAC address that my router reports seeing for the same RainMachine device. I have to trust the router info (as its shows a MAC address that matches the info from other devices in my network), so I'm thinking the UI is mis-reporting the actual RainMachine MAC address in use (the "derived" MAC that you mention). Its more of an annoyance than an actual problem but its unexpected. The only equivalent I can think of is iPhone which generate a "private MAC". Is that what you're doing - creating a private MAC address of sorts?

Yes adapter tries to do something similar, and we display the "main" interface mac which is the access-point mac that's fixed (written in flash).
