MAC address in GUI doesn't match what my router sees
Hello,
I've had my RainMachine Pro for a couple of months now, connected to my home network over WiFi. Network connection seems fine, but today I noticed a difference in the MAC address shown in the RainMachine UI and what my router thinks it should be.
RainMachine UI shows
MAC Address: 08:be:77:00:93:70
My router shows;
0a:be:77:00:a7:20
Noticed these are very close, looks like a couple of bits off for the first, fifth and sixth digits. And OUI 08:be:77 comes up "Green Electronics" at https://www.wireshark.org/tools/oui-lookup.html, but 0a:be:77 comes up as nothing.
Is this a bug in the UI?

Thanks. I'm still a bit unclear as I'm seeing a *differnet* MAC address in the RainMachine UI as compared to the MAC address that my router reports seeing for the same RainMachine device. I have to trust the router info (as its shows a MAC address that matches the info from other devices in my network), so I'm thinking the UI is mis-reporting the actual RainMachine MAC address in use (the "derived" MAC that you mention). Its more of an annoyance than an actual problem but its unexpected. The only equivalent I can think of is iPhone which generate a "private MAC". Is that what you're doing - creating a private MAC address of sorts?
