WiFi won't turn on

Hello,

I'm attempting to set up a Rain Machine HD 12 but I cannot connect to my network because when I try to enable WiFi the checkmark displays for a second then goes away and the screen displays "error". No amount of restarts or attempts have provided any other result. I'm using the TPLink WN823N V3 as my adapter.

  Dear Dylan,

  Please remove the WiFi stick and check if the USB port is dirty. Try to clear both the stick and the port, reinsert it back and test it again.

  You can also insert the WiFi stick into the other USB port.

  I've tried this and it doesn't work.  Every time I try to turn on the wifi it immediately says "staring" then "error"  It is almost as if something is wrong with the software.
