    Hi, Jason
If we will be out of business, the RainMachine devices will continue to operate all their hardware life time. There are users with RainMachine devices that continue to work since 2013-2014.
Indeed we would be happy to give you an estimate about our next product batches, but we can't do that for now.
Thank you for your patience and understanding, Jason

And when they have to settle this class action suit that is certainly coming, they won't be around anymore either.  So, either way, bye bye RainMachine!

    Julian

There are posts on the internet about Rainmachine going out of business.  If that is the case, please remove all of the premium services since it does not matter at this point anyway .

    Hi, all
No, we are not out of business.
Please make sure to follow official announcement on our website.
Note - If the RainMachine will be out of business, your RainMachine device will continue to work.

Thank you all for your understanding.

Skydrop said the same thing as Julian, after they started charging for previously free service and right before they went under. The only bright spot: service from RainMachine has sucked for years so I’m glad they will be out of business as we enter a recession.

    Hi, Colleen
    No.
We do not block any feature of the RainMachine device behind optional Premium Services $29.99 for 1-year long subscription.

No. We do not have a "light" version of the RainMachine mobile app and also there is no "Pro" version either. Our RainMachine mobile applications are free and the same for all users.

No. You do not need a RainMachine Remote Access account to access and control your RainMachine. As you surely remember when you first setup your RainMachine device, the Remote Access step was "optional" you have a "Skip" button available for that step.

There is a reson for that Skip button there.

Yes. Our RainMachine devices are cloud independent by design and they will continue to work without optional cloud access for their entire hardware life.
Yes. Weather data is fetched directly from the weather services you choose to enable and it is free because you connect directly to their service using the internet connection available for RainMachine device.

As you can see there are some huge differences between RainMachine and other cloud dependent devices you may have used. There were in 2014 and they are now still in 2022.

    Hope that helps.
    Thank you!
    Julian

I noticed you talked a lot about things I didn’t mention, and nothing about how this company is clearly going under.

Brush up the resume Julian and enjoy job hunting in a recession

    Hey everyone
I’ve been down this smoke and mirrors route with Skydrop. Every thing everyone is saying now here was said on skydrop forums a few years ago. They denied denied denied (note Julian is dancing around WHY this product is no longer sold anywhere) until finally (after squeezing the last few dollars out of remaining Skydrop customers with their new “premium” service) they posted this:

    https://www.skydrop.com/open-letter-to-skydrop-community/

Don’t say I didn’t warn you (even if Julian won’t)

Me too. The fact that nobody responded to your message tells you everything.

Sadly, I couldn’t wait any longer and bought a competing product.

    RIP RainMachine.

The app is doing nothing for remote access now other than attempt to upgrade me to premium - not gonna happen.  This was such a promising product several years ago - now it seems like it is going down the toilet.  Not happy with RainMachine right now and likely going to switch to a competing product.  Oh and BTW the NOAA call feature to get NOAA data is not working - which basically means the feature is worthless at this point.  Time to cut my losses and not get any more frustrated with this stupidity.

Surprisingly, I am still able to use the app and get NOAA weather notifications every day and app freeze warnings too. On Android 14 with RainMachine app ver. 4.7.5. Not sure why it still works but it does. I'll use my RainMachine irrigation system until it dies then move on to Rachio or consider an Orbit model. My neighbor's Skydrop died today. Skydrop.com website is currently for sale...Sadly, RainMachine will probably be the same soon.

What still works does not require any cloud dependency, so yes, of course it still “works”. Rain Machine is dead though. Completely out of business and gone.

Hi everyone, do you happen to have the electrical diagram of the Touch 16?
Or do you have a valid non-Chinese alternative, the App on iPhone does not exist...

My Touch 16 turned off and I wanted to fix it, if there was the circuit board

To the person wondering if rain machine is like skydrop—yes. I had skydrop. Customer service became awful then went out of business. So I got rain machine. Customer service be some terrible and as I expected, it also is nearly out of business (no tears over that). I now have a Rachio if anyone wants to avoid my choices since I’m sort of on a streak. Of the three (when they worked and before support sucked) I preferred skydrop over rain machine over Rachio. But I mostly prefer one that works. Rachio support isn’t very good so not a great sign…

Sadly irrigation controllers are a product that is seldom replaced. Maybe once every 10-15 years? Unless manufacturers have complementary follow up products, it’s a low margin model. RainMachine didn’t have any other products, and the company ran out of money before they could get past their covid supply chain issues.
