    I second that suggestion!

The main complaint seems to be the removal of the of the Remote Access feature. Implementing a charge for the more highly technically support or implementation features of RM would seem more appropriate. I just need the remote access as my use of my Pro-16 is basic.

I don't have wifi in all my yard, so when I'm adjusting my sprinklers, I need remote. I'll swap before paying a surprise yearly fee

We purchased this system because of it capabilities years ago going on 6 years now and now you want to take those away and charge for them with a premium subscription.  How about offering a subscription for users with more than one system connected to their account that would get your any commercial account users to pay for your service.

I agree...  I am a long term customer.  I purchased your unit more than 5 years ago and I have referred my family and friends to you company as well because I really like the device.  My suggestion is to grandfather in your legacy customers and apply your subscription model to new customers only.

In lieu of all of the inflation in the country today, I really dont need another bill - even if it is only 2.99 month.

For me personally, If you do not change your model - Im out and switching to your competitor.

They aren’t going to grandfather anyone—everything that’s being said here now was said years ago on Skydrop forums. Skydrop first started having crappy support to their buggy device. Then they started charging and a few months later went out of business. I knew when support at RM turned crappy they were on a skydrop track. They can’t grandfather—they are doing this bc they are going under.

    Two bright spots:
    1. Karma will get them: they provided bad service, they tried a scam, and they will be out of work as a recession hits
    2. Rachio is having a Father’s Day sale

I've done it. I jumped. Bought Rachio gen 3 for 150$, at 30 a month it will pay for itself in 5 years, which is shorter than I've had my rain machine.

This is a very unprofessional way to run a business. You will fail.
