Wi-Fi Mesh system and single SSID

I am doing pre-purchase investigation of  Rainmachine for use with a Linksys Velop Wi-Fi mesh system. This has both the 2.4 and 5G signals with the same SSID.

Has anyone used this configuration with either the Velop or any other dual band router?

  Hi, David
  We, at RainMachine did not test this Wi-Fi mesh network setup.
  But, from their info on Amazon listing

  Brand	Linksys
  Series	WHW0103
  Frequency Band Class	Dual-Band
  Wireless Type	802.11a/b/g/n/ac
  Frequency	5 GHz

  it doesn't look good :(

  All our RainMachine devices support 2.4Ghz networks and they will not connect to a 5Ghz one.
  With an exception: RainMachine Touch HD-12/16 devices, using a 5Ghz network USB thumb adapter will connect to 5Ghz networks.
  So, this mesh Wi-Fi network will not be supported by all our devices.

  I use an Asus mesh network, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks enabled using the same ssid - rainmachine connects fine to the 2.4GHz network, with a strong network connection.  Sadly Rainmachine has not enabled WPA3, which is much more secure than WPA2.
