The RainMachine will auto-adjust program zone durations based on weather. For example, hot days require more water, cool days require less, and on rainy days it may not water at all, achieving substantial water savings.
Watering durations for each programmed zone can be set as:
This watering zone time is calculated from the properties of your zone (soil type, plant type, sun exposure, etc) and represents 100% of watering on a typical summer day for that particular zone.Note: This time will be affected and auto-adjusted based on the weather data available at start time.
This watering zone time is set by the user and represents the desired duration if the Suggested one doesn't meet the needs.Note: This time will also be affected and auto-adjusted based on the weather data available at start time, it is not a fixed time, but the desired user time.
We encourage you to experiment with the various settings to find a duration that works best with your setup and keep an eye on how your plants respond.
If you want to have only fixed program zone durations (Suggested or Custom) just disable the program "Weather-Adaptive Watering" option. Learn more
