Question - rainmachine to replace RainBird ESP-6Si

I have a RainBird ESP-6Si currently installed in our house & am considering replacing it with the rain machine. 

The RainBird has 6 stations; each stations have multiple sprinklers attached to it. My questions are:

 

1. Does a station equal a zone, meaning I have 6 zones currently on the RainBird?

2. Since multiple sprinklers are in the same zone, the individual sprinklers in a zone cannot be controlled (all sprinklers in the same zone will be controlled the same way) - correct?

3. For additional zones, I will need to install new control valves/ sprinklers - correct?

  Here are the answers.

  1. Yes, in this case the RainBird Station = RainMachine Zone.

  2. That is correct.

  3. That is also correct.
