HD-12 Rain Sensor connection ON-OFF State

When connecting a rain sensor to Pins 1 & 2 on the hidden connector per your diagram, is the connection broken when there is rain or is the connection made when there is rain? Are the pins jumped with rain or no rain? I should be able to duplicate the rain sensor signal by jumping the pins correct?

  Hi Dave,

  Usually there are 2 types of rain sensors: Normally Closed (most common) and Normally Open.

  Normally closed ones open the circuit when it's rain, so in RainMachine if you put those 2 wires in short it's the "normal" state (no rain), when you "un-short" them it will detect rain.

  Normally open ones are the similar but in reverse.
