Rainmachine 16-pro wifi not working when set to N only

I have Rainmachine 16-pro

when I set the router to N only wifi the rain machine cannot connect

considering that Rainmachine supports b,g & n this should work  

i need to have legacy wifi enabled to make this work not good

  Hi,
  Is the "N only" on your Wi-Fi router a 5GHz radio?
  The RainMachine Pro does not connect to 5GHz.

  Also, in order for RainMachine Pro to get a stable connection it needs all channels available.
  What type of router do you have?

  Wifi settings are at  2.4 GHZ on Asus router, wpa2 enabled , AES enabled on channel set to 10.

  All these are marked as supported by the wi fi specs for the Rainmachine 16-pro.

  Also the distance between the wifi router and Rainmachine 16-pro. is about 5 inches they are mounted side by side on the garage wall.
