Future vs. Past Weather and Rainmachine Schedules

How does the Rainmachine determine watering adjustments?  Does it just look at the weather in the next 5 days and make the decision based on future predicted weather?  Or if it rained recently, does it adjust the next water schedule to take that into account, regardless if it will be dry the coming week?

  Short answer: "Yes".

  With rain, the Rainmachine uses QPF (Quantitive Precipitation Forecast) which is a pretty good measure of forecasted rain per 24 hour span for up to 3 days. 

  Also, programs have a feature where watering for the respective day can be entirely stopped (not just partially) if there is a rain. The threshold amount can be set from 1/16th on an inch all the way up to 1inch. (for city regulation). 

  The RainMachine uses forecast (future weather), but it can be set to use weather stations as well (past weather)
