adaptive watering improvements
I showed our rain machines to my friend who does agricultural systems. His criticism was universal on all residential systems. The most effective approach is typically not to lower the amount of water per day - but the number of waterings per week. Reducing from 10 min to 2 min means the water never gets to the root system. Better to have one ten minute soaking per week than five 2 minute sessions.
Is the API open to where someone could modify this to be more consistent with the standards in large scale agri? If so you'd be the only platform out there that allows adjustments on the number of monthly watering sessions as opposed to just cutting down the time each day.
its also possible to use some sort of PWM (pulse width modulation) to extend the total run time. i think that this is what adaptive watering does. instead of blasting the lawn for 10 minutes full force, use the same amount of water over an hour in short sessions.

Adaptive Frequency option does what you want: lowering waterings per week. If the watering is below a threshold to be beneficial to a plant it will postpone to next watering cycle.
For the second question it looks to me like our Cycle & Soak option which you can set to automatic to delay watering until is soaked into soil.
