Touch Screen is not working on RainMachine HD-12
Recently I noticed that the touch screen of my RainMachine (purchased in Sept. 2017) is not working. The screen can does display current weather info. The left side watering symbol is always light. The left side setting symbol is always blinking. I tried to touch left menu, right menu or middle screen, but none of them has response.
I usually use iPhone app to control and monitor the RainMachine until recently I went to look at the physical control and see its touch screen is not working. Through the iPhone app, the RainMachine is working and controllable.
I tried to reboot it and the screen is still not touchable working. The device has the latest firmware 4.0.925.
I am not clear if the touch screen is out of order or if we have any other solution.
Please help.

It looks like the touch screen has failed, we will need to start an RMA to get your unit fixed/replaced.

I have the same problem on my device, detected recently, when I started watering again in my garden.
Hardware V3 purchase Nov, 2016 , Firmware V04.0.974
The touch screen seems to react in the center of the screen but not on the side, so I can not navigate to Home or Settings.
Is this a known bug - software or hardware ?

I am experiencing the same failure (sides of touch screen not working). Generic failure? Hardware? Software? Is this covered as a known manufacturing defect. I purchased mine in June 2016.
In addition, the RainMachine becomes non-responsive (apparently software) and I get prompted to wait or close. If I select Wait, the prompt will eventually come back. If I select Close, the RainMachine data is reloaded, and everything is seemingly back to normal, but sometimes later (I don't know how long because I don't stay watching it) it will be non-responsive again.
On top of it all, the screen never blanks (related problem I am not sure).
Thankfully it is still usable from the app.
Hardware v3, firmware 4.0.1129, iOS app 4.6.107 (4), API 4.6.1
Any relief?

I have a rainmachine 4.0.1129 with the same problem. I noticed that the screen is not working today. I alway use the app. Also there is a recent problem we started having, and I think they might be related. The rain machine stopped watering some zones. In the app it shows it is watering, but no water on the sprinklers. Those zones work when I manually open the valves. I checked the current, looks like there is no voltage reaching the valves. My husband purchased the system 2 years ago( not quite sure). Should I ask for a replacement? What are the next steps I should take?

I did the following 2 months ago (see my posts above yours). I emailed support (support@rainmachine.com). They got back to me and told me to send the unit in. They charged me $30 to replace the touch screen (parts) and did not charge me for labor. I was upset at first because I thought they were going to warranty it since it was a manufacturing defect. But I caved in. Unit is working fine now, and software problem (the unit freezing up) has been solved by the same token (probably caused by the touch screen malfunctioning).
