Upgrade from HD-16 to Pro-16 missing zones and schedules...
I upgraded to the Pro-16 because I wanted the ethernet connection reliability. While restoring from a previous HD-16 backup I noticed that not all the zones and schedules were copied over and one zone that was disabled was copied over either as "active" or had its name changed from "N/A" to "Zone 16"...
1) has anyone seen this before ?
2) I'm unable to create new backup of the HD-16... everything i've read states that when you access the device via the mobile app, or change a zone setting a backup is created, this has not been my experience...
Does anyone have a reliable process for backup and restore while upgrading machines ?
<running latest released firmware and IOS app>
thanks...

Hi all,
Unfortunately, restore from backup from another model to a Pro model will not work as expected since the internal numbering of zones is different.
Restore from CLI can be done, but the issue with the zone numbering will persist.
We will add this to our mobile apps restore from backup feature as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding.

In the interim, this might need to be updated then:
https://support.rainmachine.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002641987-Restore-from-Backup
This feature is available now for all units except for 1st Gen HD RainMachine 2013-2014

I thought also the support article should be updated but then I thought if they plan on fixing this in the future and it’s not a hard failure meaning they can work around it via a new app version then maybe not mention it.
on the plus side if the how-to did mention that pro units can not be restored from a non pro model that would have saved my numerous hours of tinkering and head scratching.

Hi,
We have made a beta build for this issue. You can join beta channel by following this link. The iOS build version is 4.5.110(1) and the Android version 4.2.26
The restore backup function from HD12/HD16/Mini-8 to Pro device is done as following:
- No master valve: All zones and watering times are transferred to their corresponding zone number as seen on valve labels. (1=>1, 2=>2, etc).
- Master valve is configured: Master Valve settings are transferred to special purpose Master Valve on Pro device. Zone properties and watering times are are shifted by one (2=>1, 3=>2, 4=>3, etc.)
Also, in similar fashion restore from a Pro device to other model is supported.
