Backup Not Restoring
Received a replacement HD12 for one that wasn't working correctly.
Got it all installed, connected to wifi etc, and then in the app, chose Restore From Backup and chose a backup from the old machine from yesterday's date. I click YES on restoring the backup, all zones, programs, watering restrictions etc.
Click YES and it runs and I get "successfully restored backup"
However, this new machine still has no zone information, no programs, no weather sources, etc that transferred. It appears that only the restrictions from the backup were transferred correctly.
Have I done something incorrectly? Or is there a bug? Something special I need to do to restore a backup from another machine?
I also tried doing the backup on the HD12 screen (not in the app). No success.
I really don't want to have to reprogram in all the zones, soil, shade, slope, weather stations etc etc again if it can be avoided.

I have the same problem with my Mini-8. It just came back from Rainmachine after warranty repair, and using the steps above (from the manual and support pages), get a restore confirmation message, but no actual restore. Is there magic involved? Something that needs to be set on the cloud side? MAC, serial or other ID linking issue?

I recently got a new Pro-16 to replace my Pro-8. I tried to restore from backup but the app eventually hung then quit. Tried again and this time it spun for a while then returned successfully (don't remember if it gave a success message). The restore was about 95%. It got the two programs I had saved, and 7 of the 8 zones. Also, of the zone options, all should have been set to no modification of time, but only a few were. Also all the pictures were lost.

Hi, Jerome, all
We're sorry about this inconvenience.
What RainMachine app did you used to restore from backup your devices? Did you connect to the RainMachine locally, when on the same Wi-Fi network, or you were connected remotely? There is nothing else involved into the restore process and this should go without issues if the phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as the RainMachine device, if it's not, then the internet connectivity between the mobile phone and the RainMachine device could be the cause of a not successfully restore process.A backup is created every time a zone, or a program or a restriction is changed or created (program, restriction).
If the backup is found, all your zones (without images), programs and restriction settings should be restored.
From what you say it sounds like a bug and we need your help to better understand the situation.
On our tests (RainMachine Touch HD-12/16 and RainMachine Pro-8/16) both restored from backup correctly using the RainMachine iOS app or the RainMachine Android app.
Thank you for your understanding.
