Apple HomeKit available for RainMachine Pro and for RainMachine Touch HD
Pinned Featured ImplementedStraight out of the box, RainMachine Pro-8/16 (v4.0.1128 and up) and RainMachine Touch HD-12/16 (v.4.01129 and up) with Apple HomeKit integration will work with your Apple devices.
With Apple HomeKit integration for RainMachine you will be able to manually start/stop a zone, change a default running time for each zone, queue multiple zones, change the status of a zone (active or inactive), change the zone custom names and use voice to command Apple Siri to start/stop a zone or check your sprinkler status.
Important
- update RainMachine Pro-8/16 and RainMachine Touch HD-12/16 to the latest stable firmware version
- update RainMachine iOS mobile app to the latest version from the Apple AppStore
- make sure you have Apple iOS version updated to at least v11.0 and up, if not, check for Apple Software Updates and install them
- your Apple iPhone/iPad has to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as RainMachine devices and internet connectivity should be available.
Pair RainMachine with Apple iPhone/iPad
- open Apple Home app and tap the (+) or "Add Accessory" button
- on RainMachine Pro tap on: Settings - System - IoT - Apple HomeKit - Pairing Mode - Yes.
- on RainMachine Touch HD tap on: Settings - System - IoT - Apple HomeKit - Enter pairing mode
- wait for the Apple HomeKit code & QR to be generated on the RainMachine screen
- scan the Apple HomeKit QR with the Apple iPhone/iPad camera
- wait for the RainMachine to be added as Apple HomeKit Accessory
- of the process was successful, you can rename the RainMachine HomeKit accessory name, add it to a room, mark it as Favorite, change zone names and their status (active/inactive), manually start/stop zones, change their default running times and also ask Apple Siri by voice to get your sprinkler status, to start/stop a zone (eg: "Hey Siri, what's my sprinkler status", or "Hey Siri, start zone 3 for 10 minutes")

Hi, all
Can you please try again now and see if the Apple HomeKit code and QR is generated on your RainMachine Touch HD devices?
The latest beta firmware (v4.0.1125) update is required.
Thank you, all

Hello, thanks for the response! I tried initially but same result. So I rebooted the device, hit the remove pairings and then attempted to get a new homekit code. It then worked without a hitch. Be advised though that the zone names did not transfer through - I renamed them manually in the Home App from Zone 1, 2, etc.

Ok. Followed instructions. Inclusive of reboot etc. Got the QR, got connected to HomeKit. Got the zoes showing as Zone 1 thru Zone 16. Renamed in Apple Home to appropriate names. Worked fine last night. Today I constantly get a 'No Response' on Apple Home from RainMachine. All other Home devices are fine. Rebooted RainMachine several times and still unresponsive on Home. Are your servers offline / the culprit again? Thanks

Hi, @Avi
First, have you tried to control the RainMachine device using our RainMachine iOS mobile app and see if everything works as is should? This is just a check.
Second, once you added RainMachine as Apple HomeKit accessory all you need is a good local Wi-Fi connectivity, because that's how you communicate through Apple HomeKit, no connection is going through our remote access servers. Make sure your iPhone/iPad is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the RainMachine device.
Also, once you add it as Apple HomeKit accessory if you go and choose "Enter Pairing Mode" to generate another code/QR you have to remove it from Apple Home app and add it again by scanning the new code/QR. Make sure you did not generate another code in the meantime.
Hope this helps, Avi
All your input is appreciated since the Apple HomeKit implementation for the RainMachine Touch HD-12/16 devices is still in Beta state.
Thank you,
Julian
