Allow master valve control without enabling a zone

I have a master value in my system, then there are 5 valves downstream from it.  I also have a hose attached directly to the output of the master valve so I can water manually when needed.  My main garden is 90 feet away from the house and master value is next to house.  Only one water line goes out to the main garden and this is controlled by the master valve.

In the past, to get water going to the hose I had to turn on a "dummy" zone.  Meaning a zone that was not actually connected to my RM-Pro-8.  That worked fine.  But now I have all  8 zones connected so there is no extra dummy zone.  So to make it work now I have to put a manual screw on valve on the output of one zone that is not hooked up except when I'm on vacation, and close that manual valve.  Then I can turn that zone on and get water going thru to the hose.

The better solution would be to allow the master valve to be turned on by the app/unit without turning on a zone.  Can this feature be added?

  Ditto. I have hose bibs connected downstream of the master valve, and no available dummy zones to work around this limitation.

  I have a similar need for other reason (to control a Pump relay ) and i have being asking for this functionality in other posts from other users. I will vote on this but you should also vote on other post so it will increase the chance to have this implemented. ( or something similar )

  I agree. I also have asked for this function. It has nothing to do with code with me either. I have a separate water collection system I water from and would like to start the pump remotely with my phone so that my spigots are available for manual watering.

  I agree too. I also need this function. I have the sprinkler system and 2 underground water conectors on the same pipeline connected downstream of the master valve.

  Now i'm using a dummy zone, but i would like to say "hey Siri: Open master valve for 30 minutes".

  I have the same question, how to open the master without a separate zone. Was this answered?
