I would use this, though some thought would need to be given to other zones in the schedule.  EG if zone 1 finishes do not close the main beforehand if another zone starts after zone 1 finishes, or perhaps just scheduling the main separately?

It seems that the easiest method would be to tie it to the schedule.  So when the schedule is going to start, it opens the master vale X amount of time before the schedule starts (the RainMachine knows when the schedule is going to start and how long it will run) and then starts watering when the schedule time starts.  When the schedule is set to end, it closes the main valve when the schedule ends and then closes the last zone being used X amount of time after the schedule ended.  This would mean that the RainMachine doesn't need to worry about the other zones.

Any update on this Rain Machine people? This request has been raised many times the first one being at least 4 years ago. This seems to be the only thread with a feature status (Gathering Feedback), but it seems there's no progress?

I would like this feature as well. I'm using the Master line to turn on the relay for a pump and would like to turn off the pump a minute or two before shutting downstream valves to reduce the risk of blowing a line from too much pressure. This is for an agricultural irrigation system, BTW so higher pressures than normal residential.
