Rainmachine turns on zones but no water is coming out

I have a Rainmachine 8 that has been working well. It decrease the amount of watering based on weather, etc. About a 6 months ago I made some changes to my settings and since then it doesn't decrease the amount watering no matter if there has been lots of rain. I made sure the setting of weather based watering was on for each program. I had to set rain restrictions so it doesn't turn on when there has been moderate rain. This was fine for a few months but I decide I would do a factory reset to see if I could get weather based programs again. After the reset, it seemed like everything was working again. I would check watering history and it shows watering cut down by 30-50% on days it was supposed to rain. However, after a few weeks, i realize my driveway wasn't wet in the mornings. So i manually turn on a zone and it the app shows watering has started and on the console, the icon blinks, but no water is coming out.

I read on another post to check with voltmeter on common wire and each zones' wire. Can you elaborate on this? Not sure why this would happen after a factory reset.

When the zone is turned on, the Rain Machine should be sending 24VAC out to the valve. If 24VAC is going out and the zone isn't watering, then you probably have a bad valve.

You can also just bypass the Rain Machine. Take the power going into the Rain Machine and apply it to the zone directly. If the zone doesn't work, then it is a bad valve or a wiring issue.

I have a master valve. When I did a factory reset, I didn't set Zone 1 as the master valve. Once I did that, it started working.

I think that should be part of the initial setup, asking if you have a master valve.
