Zones not working correctly

My HD-12 used to work correctly with a master valve (zone 1) and 4 zones (2-5). Recently, zone 5 activates at the same time as 4 and will not activate when zone 5 is turned on by itself. I tried moving the wire from zone 5 to the zone 6 position, but it did not change the behavior. I tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in.

Any ideas what might be causing the problem? The water pressure is too low when both zone 4 and 5 run together, so I really need to get these separated.

  Hello Hal, 

   

  -Zones 4 and 5 are running at the same time

  -You removed the wire to Zone 5 and turned on Zone 4 and both zones still come up.

  It seems like the problem is the wiring. The wires for Zones 4 and 5 must be touching somewhere. Since you know that Zone 3 is working correctly, please connect the wire from Zone 3 to the RainMachine terminal 5 and see if it waters the correct zone. If it doesn't, please let me know and I'll start the RMA process for you.Thank you.

  Here is a revealing test I just did. I completely removed the wire for zone 5 and it resulted in the same behavior!
