Zone Total Flow erased

I cannot tell you *when* it happens... but the "Zone total flow" gets erased every few months.  (Maybe when updates occur?)  I just know that since I have had my rainmachine I have had to re-enter total flow rates probably 4-5 times.

I do not have any sort of flow meter... I purely calculate flow based on the flow rates of the devices on the sprinkler circuit.  I have scripts that keep historical data and graphs using the API.  I only notice the flow rate has been erased when I go look at my graphs and notice they have stopped working.

A similar thing seems to happen with the zone area (though I do not use this).  I always erase this field and it will reset to some area just under 1000sqft.

  Update won't erase those settings, but I'm wondering if maybe Web UI or mobile app overwrite this.

  Can you tell us what OS are you using for mobile app and if you use both mobile app and web ui to change settings ?

  Mobile app runs on Android.  Currently it is 8.0.0 but I've had the Rainmachine for several years so that has surely changed over time. 

   

  I almost never use the mobile app at all -- and never use it to change settings.  I only use the web ui for settings updates.   I only use the mobile app if I need a remote to test sprinklers in the yard.

  I guess another possibility is some interaction with the API.  There are (very minimal) updates that occur via the API.  The only updates I make via the API are activate_zone and deactivate_zone.  This is to handle freeze protection.  (I have some zones that reside inside a greenhouse.  If I enable the built-in freeze protection, it will turn off those zones in the winter, which is not what I want.)

  Oh wait... I *do* one update of settings via the mobile UI.  And I do that very seldomly...  My zone photos are basically maps of the sprinklers overlaid on top of a google satellite view.  Since you cannot edit photos on the web UI, I do make updates  via the moble app to remove/add a photo (like if I add a sprinkler or move a sprinkler).

  I did some testing.  It appears to be the deactivate/activate via the API that does the flow reset.  There just seems to be no good way to freeze protect a subset of zones.
